I need a "Cybermastiff" to accompany my 28mm Inquisitor warband, don't fancy paying out for the GW version, so anyone any suggestions? I'm thinking more of completely cybernetic rather than sticking bits on an ordinary pooch.

Micro Universe K-9? :)
-
Theres an old asgard miniature that may suit. I have a couple in the attic and will get one down when I get chance.

I knew it, I just knew it, some joker was going to suggest K9. I'm very disappointed JB. ;D

They're not too cyberdog though. The ones I have got leg braces (similar to the experimental ones that people wear for carrying extra weight) and some armor pads on their torso. Oh and a neural implant, but that's it.

Ooo, that's a beauty. :-*

Thanks for the suggestions folks, but I'm going with Robodog in this pack:

At some point in the campaign he might get a refit:

Nice! I made my cyber-mastiff from a Battletech "Fenris Battle Armour" with a plastic Saurus head:

Not at the moment but it's this model:

(Actually a Fenrir Battle Armour from the clix game)
With the gun removed, a flashing light added and a smoothed version (detail scraped off with a knife) of this head stuck on:

Hope this helps!

I love the blue light on the dawg lol

Awww, come on... it'd be funny! lol
-
What would he do, nuzzle the enemy to death? :)
-
No, he'd just be really snippy and condescending until they realised the error of their ways and went home.
-
Nice blood smear on that guy's shield. Really brings out that head thumping quality in him lol. And that witty poster in the back. Government: dinosaurs still rule the Earth lol
-
i know you have found one but GW did one or two for necromunda and inquisitor
they were part of the Adeptus Arbites (imperial police) list.
i think this picture is one of them:

Unfortunately the original Inquisitor range is 54mm so the pictured pooch wouldn't be right, and TBH I'd rather spend my cash on non-GW figures, but thanks anyway.

There was a 28mm cyber mastif in the specialist enforcers range for Necromunda.
You could of course pester Andy at Heresy as I recall he was working on one a while back, (posted on FOD).

I know about the Necromunda one, just wasn't interested in buying it. Jed at Antenociti is working on one as well. I've ordered the Mongoose Robodog, it fits the bill.

I've got a spare you know, I could add a blue light and a checkered collar rather than a tartan one, oh and set of twin autocannons for good measure?
:D

Am I imagining it or did you post up a red/white robo-dog too, Can't think where it was from Abberant games???
The Commander.
Found it!!!!

It's a beauty isn't it? Don't think I'd get away with it just yet as the cyber-mastiff is a piece of equipment generated for a single character and I already have a mutant ogryn that could cause some game balance problems. The Rezolution model would have to be classed as a character in itself, perhaps acquired by the warband later on. ;)

I believe there was one made by Mongoose Games which is now OOP, and Foundry makes one for their 2000 AD range too...

If you are referring to the ones from the Starship Troopers range, there were several. One from the Heroes of the Federation set, and the Pathfinder K-9 unit which had several species of dog with their augments.

Made some (crappy) piccies yesterday:

Note how the Fenrir Battle armour has hands on it's front 'legs'

Pil, that's exquisite. I have to steal the idea now. Thank you for the inspiration!
I never knew I needed a cybermutt till I saw that pic.

These are mine - thanks Pil!

Here are some pre-painted plastic dogs from Heroscape. They actually have them listed wrong. These were called Deathstalkers.

Quite nice, looks quite large too.
froggy> you're very welcome of course, yours are great too!

I have a set. They are a bit large. They are in scale to other 28mm figures but they are long and a little tall.
