Title: Star Wars Snow Troopers
Post by: Pictors Studio on 11 October 2020, 05:14:08 PM
These guys were more of a challenge than I originally anticipated.  They weren't hard to do once I figured out the colours, but it took awhile.  I was also surprised that they weren't all white when I actually went looking for pictures of them.  They also are less armoured than the regular stormtroopers, their arms and legs being only protected from on the lower parts of the extremities.

As usual from this range the figures are very well done.  The details are fairly crisp.  Some of the mold lines were in places that made them difficult to see until I was painting them but that can often happen.

I've not played the game so I'm not sure why they come in units of 7.  It would be neat to do a few units of them for 40K and use them as IG with the Hoth "blaster" pattern lasguns.

Nice job.  The game gives you units of 4 base, and you can buy 1 extra trooper plus a heavy weapon - and you get both weapon choices with the unit, thus 7 models to cover the available options.

I was irritated when I realized I had used a cool white for them, and almost all of the film photos show in a warm white bordering on yellow.
