Title: RACM32's FIW. Roger's Rangers added.
Post by: racm32 on 31 October 2020, 05:47:10 PM
I am going to be running a Muskets & Tomahawks II Demo game in February at CoastalCon in South Carolina. In preperation I decided to take inventory of my French and Indian War collection. I have a lot done (about 145 minis) but an equal amount still to work on (about 150 minis). Most of the "on order" models are from the This Bloody Ground Kickstarter. The rest of the collection is a mix of Galloping Major, Warlord Games, Brigade Games, Kind Mountain Miniatures, and Foundry Miniatures. I do plan on re-basing on the ones on round bases to square since M&T is my main rules for this conflict.
>British Force:
  -British Regulars x12 + 2 officers on foot & 1 mounted officer.
  -Georgia Provincials x24 + 1 mounted officer.
  -Virginia Provincials x24 + 2 mounted officers.
  -Mohawk Indians x8.
>French Force:
-French Regulars x18 + 1 officer on foot.
-Campaign French De La Marines x19 + 1 officer on foot.
-Canadian Coureurs de bois x18 + 2 officers on foot.
  -Huron Indians x10 + 1 chief.
>On the paint table:
  -Mohawk Indians x5 + chief.
-Colonial Rangers x8 + 1 officer on foot.
>In Que:
-Campaign French De La Marines x21
  -Field artillery x4 (side TBD)
  -Colonial Rangers x6
  -Colonial Militia x10
  -Armed Civilians x5
  -Unarmed Civilians x20
>On order (Brigade Games Kickstarter):
  -French Regulars x6
  -British Rangers x6
  -Highlanders x12

  -Indians x12 + 1 Chief.

Currently on the paint table is my first batch of Rangers and another unit of Indians.

Once they are done I'll move to another big batch of French Marines

I am designing my British army to have 2x12 units or Regulars and 4x12 units of Provincials that are supported by smaller units of Rangers, Indians, and Militia.
The French army will likewise have 2x12 units of Regulars but with 5x9 units Marines that are supported by smaller units of de bois, Militia, and Indians.
This should give the British and advantage on open field fights but the French and advantage in woodland fights which is, more or less, historically accurate.

Finished a unit of Roger's Rangers sent to me by a friend for use in our French and Indian War games using Muskets & Tomahawks. The models are from Warlord Games. I painted them to represent the way they are photoed on the box. I ordered square bases from Warbase with magnet holes and magnets to go in them.
