only if you want to play those scenarios.  v2 rules and solo deck should be all you need.

I play almost exclusively solo.  The Pulp Alley solo deck gives a great game.  The scenarios in the V2 rule book can be replayed over and over.  My favorite expansion book are The Eye of the Serpent and Vice Alley.  The scenarios in both are easily modified for any setting.

I've often wondered this, every time I intend to buy the game I go to the website, get totally confused with the options and give up.

i understand.  the 2nd edition rule book combines (and clarifies) a number of things from the other books so it really is pretty much all you'd need.  it is habit forming so don't be surprised if you're tempted to get a scenario book or 3.

Thank you.

I have more questions but don't feel comfortable hijacking this thread further so will ask separately.
