One of the more recent additions has been these Stradiots.
I bought samples from both Perry and TAG, eventually plumped for Perry. However, the TAG ones were perfectly good, and being as tight-fisted as the next wargamer I couldn’t bear to see them go to waste, so I added another 3 to bring the total up to a respectable 24. They seem to mix fine.

Probably a reference to the damage they managed to do on Charles VIII baggage erotic art collection train post Fornovo ;) A famously funny and embarrassing moment lol

At Fornovo, as soon as the Stradiots had beaten off the other Light Cavalry they headed straight for the Charles' loot. They gained a bit of a reputation for this kind of behaviour in the time period, though it is certainly unfair to say that they were more prone to looting then anyone else. After all, loot and pillage is what generally filled the purses of many soldiers.
The erotic art collection reference is real lol . So, Charles VIII either had very good taste, or very bad, depending on which way one sees it lol (sorry, bad pun).

Charles VIII (or, Charles the Perv as he became known after 1495) died in a gents toilet when taking a break during a game of tennis. The official story is that he hit his head on a beam, but rumour has it that he slipped on the seat taking the light bulb out. ;)

To continue the theme of cavalry of dubious worth, In order to match the Stradiots I bought some of Casting Room Miniatures Jinetes as a way of bulking out the order...it will be a while before I turn my attention to the Spanish, but at least I’ve made a start.
Nice figures and fun to paint, added a couple of Perry’s to make up the numbers.

Great stuff, never knew about Charlie's taste in art, funny!
Excellent paint jobs. Although from what I have read - at least in the Italian Wars, the Jinetes were actually considered to be pretty good troops as opposed to dubious.
