Title: Blacksoilbill's Pulp 40k thread - admech team
Post by: blacksoilbill on 02 January 2021, 04:28:36 AM
I've been painting 40k stuff for a while; using it to play Pulp Alley. I thought I'd try to post my progress here. Starting with some old stuff.

First league: Inquisitor Odo Lucipater and his acolytes. Odo is a Cobalt 1 figure, the dog is a D&D collectible figure, everything else is GW.

I bought my first penal legion troops back in 1989. They are long gone, but I've always loved the troop type. So I was pretty excited when Victoria Miniatures released their penal guard troops. Eventually I bought some, and eventually I've painted some.

Just had a message from Wargames Atlantic about new upcoming releases. They include a set of figures which they call Cannon-fodder and they have heads just like the old Penal Troopers from GW along with other head types too.Could be of use to you and others.

Those do look useful, although I'm not totally sold on the big zippers.

Nice stuff, for penal troops though the best ones I have seen are the old Cyclos from the kryomek game. Although they don`t really fit the 40k aesthetic quite so much. And being about 30 years old probably a bit small for modern gaming.

Paint `em with orange jump suits though?

You could do an honest day’s work to earn your crust, or you could just steal things! Captain Kragg and his cutthroat crew are the scourge of the interstellar shipping lanes.

All GW figures here, except the thug in brown, who's a reaper miniature.

Kragg was fun to build: he's a genestealer cultist with a flagellant head, admech leg and pistol, and a claw from an admech robot.

That's a fun little warband.  Nice work on converting the Captain.

An admech explorator team. Probably my most played league. The little robot is from Space Hulk. The human trooper is a chaos cultist conversion.
