Title: Perro de Guerra (Conquistador War Dogs)
Post by: Morin84 on 16 January 2021, 02:06:32 AM
Hi all,

How about some dogs you don't want to meet?

I'll use this for my Spanish Conquest games for Feudal Patrol

Well done! The article about Spanish war dogs was both interesting and mildly shocking.

Thanks.  Definitely not a genteel chapter in history.

My grandfather had two mastiffs, which he occasionally took out on boar hunts.  They would put thick leather “vests” that went up to the neck on the dogs.  Fierce hunters.

Very gentle and playful dogs otherwise.  Always eager to please.

Dan
PS.  It all comes down to how you raise the dog.  I’ve actually met more killer chihuahuas than I can count.

Thanks Dan - yeah Chihuahuas can be mean (small dogs are a lot).  But the Spanish put humans on the menu for their mastiffs, and learned to eat Chihuahuas!  These were raised for war, and were very protective of their masters.
