My God, the pulp scenario practically writes itself! Clandestine diggings in Depression-era LA. Furtive activities deep underground, and a terrifying mystery in long-lost tunnels! Gold - did we mention the masses of gold supposedly detected in these mysterious tunnels?

This is awesome. I will be intergrating it into my Cthulhu games immediately! Los Angeles will be a centre of Deep One activity by the end of the day.
