I am trying to get a few more friends into the hobby by making a gothic horror type game. They have opted for a werewolf type game. So where is the best place to get some? I like the westwind grand larou but there has got to be more!

Heresy makes some...

And there are a few in Brigade - for Weird War 2, but they are mostly non-descript, so they would work in most games...

Reaper makes a ton...

And this is just off the top of the 'ead...

Blue Moon (http://www.bluemoonmanufacturing.com/) is a fine place for your gothic horror needs.
-
Reaper are nice, but check out Westwind in their Gothic Horror range. There's a pack of three half clothed versions and a giant Loup Garou.
-
The Giant Loup Garou is my favourite !

thanks for the info guys. I don't like the price tag of the bluemoon one tho they do look quite good. The paint jobs are not that great are they on their website!
-
Gotta chime in on this one as Uncle Mikes Worldwide have just released a Werewolf this month for Strange Aeons. Pretty big fellow and quite wolfy... ;)
Also, like the Heresy one...
-
Aside from the Gothic Horror range, West Wind also do several werewolves in their Secrets of the Third Reich range.

Come in different "breeds" too, so your players can all have individual models. :)
-
I would suggest Heresy too as it is a very cool sculpt. The Westwind ones are nice too.Ral Parth used to do some cool Werewolves but are not in production now.
Spinespur has a nice three headed wolf creature.
-
That's right. Comfychair's Spinespur Cerburbeast! www.comfychairgames.com/pack.php?pack=19
I have this fig, and he's massive!
I really don't like the Blue Moon figs overall, so I would look elsewhere... IMO... They have a nice selection, but overall quality of figs, not soo much.

Who makes the best Werewolf?
:D Lon Chaney Jr. :D

I would go with Reaper, I did have the Wetwind ones but other than the Loup Grou sold them off and went with Reaper

He does look like he is scratching his fleas a little, doesn't he?

Ral Partha Europe sell a Weretiger if you feel the need to mix it up a bit.

Hasslefree have one bursting out of a straitjacket. Clix and Dr Who Micro Universe might be worth considering as well.
-
Bronze Age Miniatures also do a few werewolves, although personally I only rate one of them

The Dawn of the Lead (http://dawnofthelead.wordpress.com/) blog reviews the Reaper werewolves here (http://dawnofthelead.wordpress.com/2009/08/11/werewolves-by-reaper-a-review/), and more thoughts on the subject here (http://dawnofthelead.wordpress.com/2009/07/26/fangs-fur-fashion-and-firearms/). If saving cash is a priority and you dont mind re-painting plastics, mage knight has a nice werewolf sculpt with "Frost Wolf"
There is also a couple of nice sculpts in horrorclix but i cannot remember the names offhand. There is also some pretty decent sculpts in Dungeons&Dragons pre-painted line of minis.
-
I love the Frostwolf, it beats most metal werewolves easily.
We have a Lon-Chaneyish werewolf if you want something other than burly.

Maybe a nerdy Woody Allen type?
-
The Judge Dredd figure range has an "Undercity" werewolf in torn pants, trailing broken chains. For more of a Dog Soldiers feel try Infinity for some militaristic werewolves.
-
The pureblood warpwolf from Hordes is probably one my favorite.

Really fits in nicely with my prefered style of werewolf, the more bestial and muscled type. I think it fits somewhere between the skinny werewolves of Dog Soldiers and the hulking powerful Underworld ones.
Alas it doesn't seem to be a very convertable model so as nice as it is having multiple ones in the same pose might look a bit rubbish.
