For anyone else who missed these going up, Darkest Star put two new 6mm scale starships up on their site, one Federation:

and one Ventauran:

Pretty snazzy looking, and they'd fit a Traveller-inspired terrain layout nicely IMO. Be good for scenario play in (say) Dirtside where you're either fighting over an actual spaceport or trying to break up a smuggling operation out in the back of beyond.

:-* Those are fabulous! I keep meaning to order from Darkest Star, one of a few companies that do 15mm sci fi i've never got round to purchasing from.

Very nice. Please post pictures of finished and painted ships when done.

Just had an email from the owner, he said he should have some painted images on the store site soon, along with dimensions of the figs.

I haven't ordered these yet, but I've done quite a lot of their other stuff (mostly 15mm) and it's all been a pleasure to work with. I'd post some images but most of my photo library died with my old computer.

6mm SF is where I started in wargaming and although my figures haven't hit the table in well over a decade now I've still got a soft spot for the genre and scale.
Might have to pick up those starships just to paint and see if that kicks up a renewed interest...

Just for anyone wondering, I had some photos from DSG that show the sizes on these. The Fed ship is about 3.75" long and 3" wide, and the Ventauran is about 5" by 4". Of course, the Fed has that little shuttlecraft as well, which you could leave separate or attach to the back of the upper hull. Think you have the option to do them as either landed with the gear extended or "in flight/hovering" with the gear bays and (on the Ventauran) stairs closed up.
