Post by: VonAkers on 06 September 2009, 11:38:30 AM
Gday
Right national disaster. :o
I just bought a very nice and large (94 cm x 13 cm ) model boat from ebay.
It was delivered today ,it is great ,pictures to follow.
I plan to use it as for my Colonial /WW1 East Africa project.
However I went purchase some guns for it from the London War Room ...
It seems they are no longer in business????
Does anyone know whats going on????
I have seen no mention of this on any forum???
I need some of the guns ,can any one help me please .
Cheers

It's true, I'm afraid. I fear you have missed the boat (sorry, bad pun). Too bad, as they had some good stuff.

Try Old Glory, they have (or had) some suitable guns. (as for crew they hace a bag with naval artillery crew, various headgear, so suitable for german, french, austrohungarian, belgian etc)
Also Eureka has a nice colonial gun and crew. Since they sell it separately you can buy as many crews and guns you like. And you are in Australia so, you can obtain them directly.

The other  option you have is to try those model boats fittings. Some have suitable weaponry (Example: Sirmar models, Cornwall model boats and many more in UK
Sorry, I do not know in Australia but I bet there would many model shops with boat fittings. Anyhow there are lots of online suppliers.)

the Dawg is right, but it is pretty hard to find anything on the Reviresco website.

Here's a direct link to the gorgeous 12 pounder, a HUGE BARGAIN at only $6 each.

Just keep hitting scrolling down and hitting "more" to find all sorts of wonderful things to outfit a ship.  John McEwan's 'stuff' is just perfect.  (Substantially better sculpted than his 'folks', but he continually improves.)

These are great - I bought two of them to outfit my Norwegian Aeronef, and they were beautiful sculpts. I have to say though, I saw the french sailors I received with the various guns I purchased as sinkers - because I painted one, and found it to be such a chore to make it look good, I was ready to snap. His people are awful, but his guns and kits for ships are divine.

OG Boxer Rebellion sailors/Naval crew make good ships crew. Some of them have pom poms on their head gear but it is easily removed. The Austrian sailors (I think from the same range) make good armed ships crews.
