Noldor
I’ve been hankering to do some more elves recently for my First Age Middle-Earth Noldor and caved in last week. I’ve always fancied doing some in scale armour - these are plastic Fireforge foot sergeants bodies with heads and arms from the Oathmark elf infantry boxes set. The Fireforge set only has two scale armour bodies per sprue, but I collected all the ones I had together to create an archer unit; the horn blower has arms from the Victrix Saxon command sprue. I also painted up a couple of the metal command figures from the Oathmark elf light infantry characters sets.
The background, as ever, is a download from Jon Hodgson’s patreon site.

Nice work on those.

Nice. Great idea with the scale armour.
The Fireforge Medieval Archers also have two scale armour bodies per sprue.

They work really well - the two different kits go together very nicely

Are these the same two bodies? Many of the fireforge kits seem to recycle the same bodies with different arms or heads.

John Hodgson? I loved his artwork for The One Ring RPG, and also the covers he did for the Dragon Warriors reprints a few years ago. I think he is a perfect artist for Tolkien stuff. You have good taste, James.
Nice to see the First Age getting some attention. They were tough bastards back in them days. Kids today, eh? One Balrog is enough to drive the dwarves out of Khazad Dum? In my day we had to fight twenty Balrogs before breakfast. Every bloody day!

Just checked - yes, the bodies are the same. Cheers for pointing this out.

Hey, cheers! Glad you like them. Completely agree about the First Age - Balrogs everywhere. And fun playing with hordes of elves.
Jon H and I were at Uni back in the nineties and we worked together for a bit afterwards, so I’m slightly biased, but his work is pretty inspirational and spot on for Middle-earth. His backgrounds have improved my photos no end.

These are nice models :o :o
I am not much into swaping parts of different kits around, but that looks tempting ;)
Thanks for sharing.

Thats a superb kitbash!

Those elves have turned out really well. Very nice kit bashing to produce some great looking miniatures.
