Bummer news. The gentleman behind some of my favorite GW titles: Dark Future, BlockMania, Space Hulk, WFB 3rd...

The world, real and imaginary, has lost a brightly lit talent again. One of the creators of Warhammer itself, along with numerous other games, gaming concepts and flavoursome scenarios in the Warhammer world, including one of my personal favourites, 'The Tragedy of McDeath'. Sadly that generation of gaming pioneers is winking out one by one.

Crap, was literally just reading the interview with Priestley today in the Slingshot magazine, and he talks about working with Richard on Reaper.

Sad loss, at the least we won't forget him, and likely will continue to play his creations for many years to come.

Thanks to him for making them, and being so involved with the development of others, that so contributed to the shaping of many of us growing up.

Think its a good enough reason to get the old space hulk out.

 :(

I met Richard several times while I was at GW, difficult guy to "get to know" but a great designer and on a good day great fun to be around. Personally I think he deserves a whole lot more credit for Warhammer and the success it brought GW than he has been given.
