Title: Alde Garde: French Revolution pictures
Post by: duc de limbourg on 05 May 2021, 03:58:10 PM: At last a (resonably) complete French 28mm 1792-1794 (pré amalgame) brigade is added to our French Revolutionary period army. The brigade consists of two demibrigades each of a regular and two volunteer battalions, a small combined grenadier battalion and an artillyr battery. Post by: duc de limbourg on 26 November 2021, 11:05:35 PM: After the French and Dutch, we now add a FR Austrian advance guard consisting of light and line troops, a Cheveau Leger regiment and an artillery battery.

Post by: duc de limbourg on 24 January 2022, 07:04:56 PM: TWo additions to our Dutch FR army; a Dutch artillery battery (guns and artillerymen by Emperor Toads and the limber by Eureka) plus the two chasseur companies of the Damas legion (made from Victrix Austrian Landwehr and although not the correct uniform we have to do it with that until correct figures appear lol).

Post by: duc de limbourg on 24 January 2022, 08:34:32 PM: Boki has 15mm Dutch 1793-1795 infantry including command. They are very nice. Sadly no cavalry or artillery. I would ask him for his plans.
I don't know other firms who make them. Cavalry and artillery could maybe portrayed by early napoleonic saxons. Hussars wore the early hussar dress so French, or SYW figures can be used. But Dutch use for artillery French material (Gribeauval) as limbers, ammunition wagons and the artillery itself except the gun barrels which are cast in the Dutch Republic itself (3-6-12 pdrs)

Post by: duc de limbourg on 21 October 2022, 08:19:50 PM: We competed and added some units to our French revolutionary armies. With the Dutch army the battalion of the Dutch Hollandse Garde (with hand painted flags) was added and the artillery battery was completed with an ammunition caisson.
The French received a horse artillery battery.

Post by: duc de limbourg on 09 May 2023, 11:58:07 AM: As the Dutch model society invites us to have a demo at their Spring convention at the "Fort aan de Buursteeg" (which by the way is a fort made in 1786 but added later in WW2) we put on a French Revolutionary battle. Some pictures are added.

I have added a picture of the plan of the fort. It is part of the Dutch Grebbelinie, one of the defense lines of the Dutch army in 1940

We got a lot of attention and a lot of people came at the table who never had seen a wargame. That is imho a bonus when you have a demo at an historical site or museum.
