Title: Expect the worst. A Vietnam wargame scenario
Post by: Pijlie on May 10, 2021, 07:25:50 AM
The downside of most game scenarios is that both sides usually have a pretty clear idea what to expect. This scenario idea tries to remedy that. It is written with 28mm figures and the Spectre Operations rules in mind, but should be adaptable to other rules and scales.

You will find it in the link below and I am curious to hear what you think about it.

I like it.
By the looks of it, this could work for any asymmetrical conflict, not just Vietnam.

Looks good.

My only suggestion would be to create rules of engagement and limitations for the US forces. This stops the player just shooting civilians as a just incase measure or dropping arty etc without reason. It also adds a tension for the US player who has overwhelming power but has to be concerned about its use.

That is certainly a good addition. And come to think of it a few rules to guide the behaviour of the civilians themselves. Thanks!

Thanks for the scenarios, most excellent.
Looked over your blog.
Love the look of your Vietnam figures.
I notice you have Full Metal Miniatures figures.
How do they match up with TAG figures and Empress?
From the photos, they look like they would go well with each other.

TBH I only have three. The Catherine Leroy figure is excellent and fits well. The Marine is a pretty big guy compared to the EMpress figures, but works.

The female VC is a head taller than the VC from TAG and Empress.

Given the fact that Catherine Leroy was a tiny woman, her figure here is probaly huge too, but fits because she starts out so small  lol
