Hey everyone, I wanted to share a piece I painted for my boss in honor of his grandfather who was an Austro-Hungarian Cavalry NCO who served in WWI. I converted a Polish WW2 cavalryman to be a closer match to his face from reference photos, and to have the appropriate cap. I'll be converting and painting another one for my dad (Metternich on the forums) soon, as his grandfather (my great-grandfather) was an Austro-Hungarian Cavalry officer who served in WWI. So across the coasts of the US there will be a separated matched pair!
The mini is converted from a siberia-miniatures polish cavalryman.

Very nicely done and I very much like the family aspect of the project!

That's a really great figure with an even better story behind it, I'd love to do a unit of those some day.

As Charlemagne's father I may be accused of being biased, but I think it is beautifully done.

Looks really nice. How much work was involved in converting them?
Thank you.
