Title: Hopefully my last battle...
Post by: Vis Bellica on 18 May 2021, 10:13:33 AM
...over Zoom, as we should be back to face-to-face gaming now!

Marian Romans versus Galatians. Last time I got a real thumping - lost everything, didn't kill anything - could the Romans learn from their mistakes and beat the fanatical hairies second time around?

Viz Bellica, very nice. I presume from some of the comments on the Blog that you have been playing “To the Strongest”? My mates and I have played TTS via Zoom since last April, and it’s worked well. We will be carrying out post lockdown as we have a gamer based 140 miles away in the UK and even one in Kingston Jamaica.

Yes:  TTS in 15mm. Great set of rules, and I like FK&P too.

Thanks for the confirmation. TTS has completely re-invigorated my ancient and medieval gaming. I’ve tried FK&P but most of my mates don’t like ECW. I’m keenly awaiting TTS v2 and the long-rumoured “Renaissance”  set.

I'd never gamed the ECW before I found FK&P through playing TTS, then liked playing it so much I wrote a scenario pack!

Thanks, I’ve just checked it out on the BigRedBat website. Can you say roughly how many units you need per side? I don’t want to invest and then find I only have half the necessary forces.

Hi
It's a fictional scenario pack so everything designed for the club night game. Points values range from 90 a side in the early campaign right up to 150 points a side at its climax. If you had 6 pike & shot infantry units and 6 cavalry units a side, you could play all the games, although it would help to have one or two forlorn hope, dismounted dragoons, artillery pieces, rabble etc. There is a Scots contingent, but you don't really need specialised figures for them.
Cheers
R

R, thanks. I plan to have about 10 infantry and 6-8 cavalry units plus artillery and dragoon’s per side. Sounds ideal. I even have Covenanters!
