Every now and then I return to Ancients. This time it is the Macedonian and Punic Wars. From memory my second original wargames armies. It seemed appropriate to start with the Romans who fought everyone else.
These ones are from Forged in Battle 15mm. They fit well with Essex, Corvus Belli, QRF and Chariot that’s great because I have loads of all of them.
There are pics of all the component units on my blog and some thoughts on the Roman line relief system.
If it’s of interest here is the link.

Here is a link to my Romans on my blog....they eventually numbered about 600 figures, without non Latin allies

Since these pictures were taken I have rebased all these figures on my preferred basing system which is Imptus even though I don't really play those rules I use Hail Caesar.

Frostie, that's grand work, especially on the cavalry.
I'd seen those before but hadn't made the connection with you. In fact it was your collection that brought me to buy my Forged in Battle Romans.

Nice work!! :)

Much appreciated Archiduque.
My second legion is now complete and can be seen below and on my blog. Once again Forged in Battle figures. On to the third and fourth next, using Chariot figures.

I’ve made a start on my Carthaginians with 15mm figures from Forged in Battle, Essex and Chariot. They fit well enough together. It's mainly Libyans and Numidians so far. If it is of interest here is the link.

I’ve been painting my Spanish contingent for the Punic Wars. As is the way of it this has grown into a full Spanish army. I’m using a lot of figures from Forged in Battle 15mm. They are splendid little fellows.

I’ve finished the Numidian contingent for my Carthaginian Army.
The figures are from Essex and Forged in Battle. They fit together nicely enough on the same base. If it is of interest there are more pics on my blog.

Two more Roman Legions for my Macedonian and Punic wars project are complete. I’ll just leave out the triari for the Macedonian Wars. Cheating I know, but I’m all Roman’ed out what with 3rd Century and Late, Sub Romans and Belisarius too.
The figures are old ones from Chariot and Essex and it is good to see them fit for service once more.
If it is of interest there are lots of clickable pics on my blog.

I’ve completed the first 10 units of Spanish warriors for my Punic wars project.
Another two and I can field a Spanish Army in its own right.
Most of the figures are from Forged in Battle with two units from a mixture of manufacturers old and new.
If it is of interest, you can see them all on my blog.
