Welcome to the LAF and have a great time. No need to excuse for language skills, everybody here gets along quite well.
And as I understand, the Mutineer figures will be first available in October?

Didn't hear about this new range, so thanks to Mangooland for the news. Sculptor is Mike Owen, but I couldn't find any pics. Has someone else seen greens or castings?

We have a shared favourite then...

I started historical wargaming 20 years ago with Indian Mutiny and have been waiting to return to it when I had the skills, and the figures, to do it justice.

It should be good stuff... Im just looking forward to the resin Kashmir Gate...  :D

Very enticing. I am far more interested in early colonial than late.

I wonder who the British personalities will be?

Nice to see another colonial conflict getting a shiny new line.

*sigh* I wish someone would bring out a new line for Anglo-Maori Wars. It's a really interesting period but the OG and Eureka lines aren't really  state-of-the-art anymore.

naah, then millions of subjugated, tortured and massacred India natives would have to be made as well.
no, I think non-combattants should be left out - we have lots to paint anyway.
a Gandhi Miniature would be nice though

apart from this, I learned that wargame soldiers are never killed - they are only out of Action and can be resurrected - so basically unconscious
how this is gonna work with the cannon thing or Machinegunned Zulus is hard to tell....

excuse my cynical comments but war is a bitch

Back in the days, when I was actually playing games, I hardly have any "casualties" in my army… Thanks to my particularly bad dices rolls my army’s manoeuvres had two phases; deploy… and run away! lol

Oh, and back on subject, I’m eager to see those figures as well… :D

But of limited use in the mutiny era.

Perhaps his grandfather would be an option ?

not sure his grandfather would be in India after all
and not somewhere else

I like miniatures for civilians. Of course, not depicted as casualties but alive (as they should be). They add flavor to a gaming table and can even be part of the scenario plot (informants or captives that need to rescued).

And depending on era/conflict you also get journalists (war correspondents), missionaries & aid workers (imminent hostages), political figures (objectives)

sorry

I love to have civilians on the table to spice up the game
only my strange humour is sometimes hard to get

sorry again

Hi
I better introduce myself just joined the forum my name is Brian Sweeney owner of Mutineer Miniatures, Just embarking on our first figure range 28mm Indian Mutiny.  The figures are being sculpted by Mike owen (Artizan) and we are about three weeks away from them being on the shelves. I agreed with Mike not to post greens pictures as the proportions are different in final metal figures. I will post the first master figures when available and take pre-orders from then. the first packs will be EIC/British infantry, Highlanders and Mutineer infantry including Ghazi (bandit types) Best to register on the website to get up to date info and any introductory offers www.mutineerminiatures.com (http://www.mutineerminiatures.com).

The first show the figures will be available is Fiasco leeds November, The rest of the shows we will attend are
Targe
Warfare
Smoggycon
Recon
2010
Albnach
Salute
Carronade
possibly york and the triples

In addition to our figures we have a range of custom 28mm Terrain roads rivers trees etc, also we carry a full stock of mininatur/ silflor products tufts and other basing products.

We also have the full range of Shellhole scenics buildings and offer a painting service for these buildings

I am lucky to have on board some excellent In house painters for the Figures and shell hole buildings (Piers) is my figure painter and I just love his style and quality and Marco from Rif Raf paints our shell hole buildings. I very much look forward to meeting many of you at the shows and chatting on the forum.

And I had a great weekend at the beast lair playing BCW great bunch of guys, sadly my dice rolling was abysmal,

Hi Brian, thanks for all that info. I'm sure a lot of LAFers are looking forward to your Mutiny range. Unfortunately CRISIS in Antwerp is not on your roadshow list, that would have been a nice opportunity for us "continentals" to see the minis in the flesh. For 2010 you mentioned "Albnach". May I ask what and where that is?

It would have helped had I spelt it correctlly, Albanich is a wargames show ran by the Dumfries club, and it is in southern Scotland. I would like to attend Crisis next year, if that is possible. We have a direct ferry from Rosyth Fife across to Bruges so perfect for transport. Albeit a bit expensive.  Next year would be more suitable as the entire range will be available and maybe a few other things!

Mutineer - I'm really looking forward to seeing these.
Mike is one of my three favourite sculptors, and all things Raj-related forms one of my top three or four favourite settings.
So I can scarcely contain myself with wanting to see what he's produced for you.
Please just show us as soon as you can.  ;D
If the product is as good as it promises to be, you stand to do a lot of trade with the colonial obsessive contingent of LAF  ;)

Subscribing to their newsletter or registering on their site might be a good idea, have done it already. I'm just as eager to see those goodies as you are, Captain. Did you see this on their site: MUT10 Nana Sahib on an Elephant? Promising, isn't it?  ;D

On the other hand I thought about all those Foundry Indian Mutiny figs I have hoarded, unpainted of course ... Why do I need any more? Am I abnorm?  ::)

No no. Of course not. You are a perfectly normal lead addict!
These new figures will of course be EVEN BETTER than the Foundry range (nice as those were at the time... )
That is why you must possess them  o_o

I must confess I'm not totally keen on gaming the Mutiny itself - but I'm dead keen to see what generic Indian / Raj-era goodies come out with this range that I can incorporate into my existing 150+ figure NW Frontier collection...

No, you can never have too many  ;)

how is anybody meant to resist such a forward pass?   ;) 8)

anyway, I would go with the Captain and say:
in the world of miniature wargaming, abnormality would be not to buy piles of miniatures that would keep anyone busy up to the age of 90 and beyond  o_o

Looking at the lists I can't wait to see some pics. Especially the British characters. Holding back on doing my two officer friends for Burton and Speke until I've had a gander at these.

By the way, it's Sepoys, not Sepoy's.  ;)
