Hi,
Would the Aventine Parthian or Early Sassanid models be ok to use as Armenian Cataphracts?
Horse archers too?
Cheers, just thinking of eastern allies for my EIR army.

I think as Armenia was frequently under the control of a branch of the Arsacid dynasty, that same dynasty that ruled the Parthian empire, it wouldn't be a surprise if Armenian Cataphracts were very similar to Parthian Cataphracts.

A&A miniatures do I nice range that I used.
Cheers

Aventine and A&A are great miniatures- given the lack of visual reference I would err on the side of the coolest models. The other alternative would be to go with something more Saka looking, or Sarmatians.

Cheers guys.
Just checking I hadn’t missed a company.
Aventine will probably be my go to choice.

Either A & A Sassanid or Aventine should be fine. A & A currently have a “buy 4 get one free offer” . The A&A models are older but very nice. I bought a Palmyran army from them last year and was very pleased with the figures

Thanks I’ll head over for a look.

I suggest die Aventine Parthians!

The Aventines are really nice, I have a box in my own painting queue. I think their horses have an edge over the A&As.

I was thinking these A7A Palmyran ones- for a more unknowable Armenian exotic look:

But I agree the Aventine horses get the nod:
