Title: M/G Corps at Belton House
Post by: Yankeepedlar01 on September 12, 2009, 05:17:00 PM
A coule of weeks ago we went over to Belton House in Licolnshire for a day out and to see the re-enactors of the WW I Machine Gun Corps. I thought you might like to see some of the photos I took ~

Thanks for posting these, as we also went and I forgot the camera  :(

Once we have finished off the French range and added more Austrians and Italians, we plan to do a few packs of British and I do like the motor cycle  :D

Nice kit, thanks for the pictures. I recently watched a short documentary on arms manufacturing and sales up in the Khyber pass region and they had a nice looking Lewis gun on the wall of one of the arms markets. Boy, how I wish I had a couple hundred rupees and a way to get there and back (alive)!

I had the pleasure of seeing some members of the Corps (a different unit of reenactors, but same impression) at the WW1 reenactment I participated in in March - of course, I was at the other end of the muzzle. Great stuff. Made me want to do an Allied impression for the war. Heck of a lot more manageable kit, too...

That's a nice combination. Shirt sleeves order in the serge uniforms. Someone should make that. Would work well for Gallipoli. Soapy! Get right on to it, with the swappable heads please!

Also, note the colour of the shirts folks. Blue? I don't think so.  ;)

Do any of those Tubby Tommies re-enact the Heavy Branch of the MGC? That would be a sight to see.

Very nice photographs. How much does a vintage Lewis gun cost these days?
