As those of you old enough to remember, in 2001 Games Workshop began releasing miniatures based on the characters from Peter Jackson's first film based on Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring.
One of the boxes of figures was the Fellowship of the Ring. The figures, cast in white metal were pretty accurate representations of the actors as they appeared in the film.
These were the first figures I had painted on a black undercoat.
They have spent nearly twenty years in my display cabinet, and I only just realised that I had not photographed them (I would not have a digital camera for nearly another four years).

Frodo Baggins. Evidently there are goblins nearby.

You've done s superb job on those hobbits whom had a terrible paintjob from GW on their release.
-
Didn't the Perry's do these? really nice models, as you say they had a real resemblance to the actors, like the paint jobs a lot too!

This makes me feel even older than I am. Usually I have to look at fossils of my high school classmates to get that effect. :)
Come to think of it, I should probably mention the new stuff GW is releasing over here instead of burying it on a Frostrgrave thread. New figs for various characters including the Witch King in plastic, new army books (yawn), a resin Seat of Amon Hen piece, and perhaps most interesting a modular plastic Dol Goldur kit:

True that. Wish my 20 year old stuff looked that good.
