Chaosium just announced that they have a very few copies of the excellent Dark
Continent supplement, said to be the very last new copies on the planet. The
author actually had these hiding in his attic, and Chaosium bought 'em up at a
show (Gencon?)

The system is pretty good, and the information on east and northeast africa in the colonial period is truly excellent !!

Good news, but nearly $70.00? Ouch! :'(

Sadly, Supply and Demand?? :'( Only time will tell if the price i "right" or not. :o

It's packed full of interesting info and good ideas. It is a cracking read, too, and pretty funny in places (especially some of the smart-arse captions to the period prints). Worth having just to read even if you aren't going to play it. To be clear though, it isn't a "supplement" like Chick said but a full-blown game system. You don't have to buy anything else to play it.
Glad I got mine from Spirit Games when it was still 25 quid.

yup, i got the email from chaosium this morning and was going to buy it,
but the price put me off when combined with the fact that its not for the BRP system,

It wasn't made by Chaosium, so there is no reason to imagine that it would use the BRP system. If someone other than Chasoium had snapped these copies up it probably wouldn't even cross one's mind. Why does it need to use the BRP system for you to want it? Just curious.

Hmmm, hadn't seen the asking price when I passed the news along.
I bought mine years back from Ork's Nest in London and hoped it would be worth 25 Stirling.
IMO it is. YMMV.

Excellent news indeed. Ive been looking for this for awhile. 70 bones...money is money, I can make more of it.

but the price put me off when combined with the fact that its not for the BRP system,
It may not strictly use BRP stats, but everything is in %s so its very easy to convert.
And I believe it was written originally for BRP anyway.
(I bought it when it first came out).

at least shipping is free as it is over $60.
I have been hunting on Ebay for months for a copy of Dark Continent without luck. Guess I will just bite the bullet and buy this one.

Amen. Phil had to look for a while to find one for me, but it was well worth it.

Hi there.
An old acquaintance of mine just contacted me out of despair trying to buy my copy of "Dark Continent" (one of those few things I am not ready to part with). ;)
Does any of you know any source and/or reliable tracker whom he can resort to in order to get the game?
[I feel he is willing to pay an unreasonable amount for a copy in good shape.]
Thanks in advance!
