Coming Soon from Killer B Games - our new Adventures in Oz Range. The first two packs: Dorothy & Friends and The Wicked Witch of The West are available to buy now, the rest will follow shortly. The intention is to bring out the Adventures in Oz game in the new year but these figures will have stats to use them in Blitzkringle. After all, what is Christmas without The Wizard of Oz?

And shown here are the Winkies, their look is taken from the original book illustrations with a few added flourishes such as helmets etc.
-
All of those figures look quite excellent! Hard time picking a favorite among them.
-
The characters look great and the Hammerheads are perfect (remember them being very creepy).
The Winkies not so much, I am not keen on the 'flourishes', the gunners are OK and fit the look well enough but the Halberdiers/Spearmen don't really say "Oz", at the least they need the iconic goatees and 'taches.

The intention is to get them cast clean shaven then add various facial hair in order to get a number of variants.
-
For a skirmish force some pose/figure variation is good. Any chance of heads without the helmet?
I am looking forward to receiving the character set I ordered.
-
Yes there will be bareheaded Winkies.
-
Very characterful sculpts.
-
Soon to be available in the US from Recreational Conflict.
-
Dorothy and friends as well as the winged monkeys are so characterful. I wouldn’t have imagined playing an Oz game, but now I am wondering about Oz Pulp Alley...I don’t know enough about the books though.
-
Very nice looking sets. I do love the characters which I'm quite certain I will order.
-
Following on from my last post I've ordered Dorothy and friends plus the Wicked Witch. Your renditions of the Hammerheads are great as are the winged monkeys. I look forward to their release. I hope in time we may see the Wizard of Oz, Ozma and Jack Pumpkinhead.
Thank you again for releasing these lovely miniatures.

Hi Helen, the plan is for an extensive range covering all the main characters as well as a set of rules. There will be factions such as the Grand Army of Oz, Scoodlers, Phantasms, Munchkins etc. I spent Lockdown reading all of the Baum books before moving onto the Ruth Thompson books. My hope is that not just gamers but Oz collectors will be interested. Coming imminently from the sculptors workbench are Munchkins and the Sawhorse ( the Sawhorse was done early as I already had a similar figure in the Blitzkringle range to convert.)
-
I like them 8)

Thanks for outlining the plan. I'm nearing the end of Ruth Plumly Thompson's books plus I've the first six audio books which are just excellent. I listen to them as I paint miniatures.
I look forward to the future, thank you.

Great to see the expansions planned for the range, a good range of book themed Oz figures is long overdue. I can see this turning from a few figures for my display cabinet into a sizeable collection.
What style of game are you intending for the rules? Skirmish, Puzzle/Investigation or a "lite" RPG like River Horse did for Labyrinth?
-
So the rules will be similar to Blitzkringle with figures traversing a table carrying out quests while the other player deploys their figures in an attempt to stop them. This is the master game, but rules for skirmish games are also included so that you can use them for 9rdinairy wargaming.
-
My take on the character set. As per the original book illustrations not the movie.

Lovely clean sculpts that paint really easily. Display bases are my addition, the originals have cast on small metal bases.
Looking forward to the next releases now.
-
Excellent painting!
-
They look fantastic! Awesome work. :-*
-
Lovely brushwork.
-
Thanks, the figures were great fun to do. It has been a long time since I last read the books so it was great to have a reason to revisit them.
Does make you realise just how big a cast of characters there are even in just the core stories.
Any timescales for the next releases?
-
The Winged Monkeys are currently being cast as are the Winkie halberdiers and the Hammerheads. The Munchkins are being sculpted but I should have an update very soon.
-
The first six books are my favourite of the series, however, I'm always surprised with the ongoing stories in other parts of Oz that have a neat way of coming back to the Emerald City and its fellow inhabitants.
Look forward to the next release on miniatures.

http:/www.recreationalconflict.com (http://http:/www.recreationalconflict.com) has these OZ figures in stock now. Send me an email while they are being put online richard@recreationalconflict.com
-
Received my miniatures today and they are very nice, thank you.
-
Our beloved sculptor has been working on the Munchkins! They'd... like to welcome you to Munchkin Land...as long as you behave! As Dorothy once wisely declared: " The Munchkins are good fighters."
There are more coming...
-
They look great, very close to the source illustrations.
Lots of blues and greys.
-
The Hammerheads and Winkie Captain are available to buy now.
The Winged Monkeys, Monkey King and Winkie Halbidiers are available for Pre-Order. They should be due in mid December 2021.

Some Munchkin Pistoleers - Pity the Winged Monkey that comes trying to start trouble with these little fellows.
And don't forget, the Winged Monkeys and Winkie Halbidiers are available to Pre-Order, and the Hammerheads and Winkie Captain are available to buy now along with Dorothy and Friends and The Wicked Witch of The West.
-
Very cool figures, I'm not familiar with the Hammerheads do they not have arms?

They do NOT have arms. They feature in the first book and have extendable necks that allow them to head butt their opponents. After giving Dorothy and Friends a bruising, Dorothy has to come up with a plan as to how to get past them.

More Munchkins! Our sculptor Martin Baker has put a great deal of character into these fellows, they are veritable works of art. Coming later today will be the Sawhorse then that will be a wrap for our 2021 Adventures in Oz releases. Next year will see more characters, more troop types and the rules. The Munchkin faction will have villagers added as well as some notable characters such as Ojo, Unc Nunkie, Tommy Kwikstep and Chopfyt.
-
Lovely figures.
I think Martin's unique style really suits characterful models like these. I have a lot of his (ex Black Hat) 3 Musketeer and (Outpost) Highwaymen characters.
When will the Munchkin sets be up on the webstore?
-
I do love the last tranche of Munchkins with hand and pole weapons. Not enamoured with the other Munchkins with black powder weapons.
I'll wait until your Winkie polearms miniatures are released before committing to purchase. I'm looking forward to receiving the Hammerheads.
I did see your saw horse on Facebook. Saw horse does looks good as do your future releases mentioned here.
Cheers!

Thanks Robh, Martin is a great sculptor, he's been sculpting our figures since we started way back in 2007. The Munchkins should be available either late December or early next year. More probably next year.
-
Here we have the Sawhorse - in his raw state having recently been brought to into existence by the Powder of Life. The intention is to produce a later version with ornate saddle, bridle and golden shoes more befitting of Princess Ozma's official mount.

Aren't you concerned that your Tio figure will get jealous? You didn't even give the poor thing a blanket to stay warm, and here the Swahorse is getting its full regalia.
You'll wind up with herring for the holidays, I tell you. :)

lol lol lol you are right, I have been shamed. But I can't see Santa trading in his reindeer and riding about on the Christmas log. lol

Perhaps an elf wingman on Tio instead? An flying candy-pooping log providing close air support seems like an alarming prospect. Just feed it some of that magic corn that gets the reindeer aloft and it should work fine. :)
