I've spent many years lurking and admiring the things everyone else posts here. So I figured it was about time I posted something myself.
21 years ago these goblins, and forty more like them, were sprayed chaos black and then packed into a box ready for a house move. They have sat waiting in that box for all these years and have been through five more house moves.
Each time we moved house I nearly sold them, but when I opened the box and peered inside, I remembered the dream of one day owning a fully painted orc and goblin army and I couldn't bring myself to part with them. So the box was closed and the goblins moved house with us to live in yet another dark and dusty loft.
Well, a couple of weeks ago, after reading through various posts on various forums, Warhammer Fantasy Battle Facebook groups, blogs and watching WFB related YouTube content, I felt inspired and retrieved the box out of the loft.
So after 21 years these goblins are finally getting some paint on them.

Great to see, very well done on getting them on the table.

Thank you :)

I'm sorry to hear that they waited so long and went through so many house moves without ever seeing a lick of paint.
However, I think it's more than safe to say that it looks like they finally got the love they deserve, and judging by the paint jobs it was worth the wait! :D
Well done on getting these finished (Greenskin armies are a real commitment!), and I hope that more soon join them (and that you share them here with us! ;) ).

You did well to keep them. Superb painting. :)

Lovely work 8)

Ah don't sweat it, I've got stuff from 30+years ago that's yet to see a lick of paint! They look really good and if you can smash a couple of regiments of Goblin spearmen like that, you can do anyting!
-
fantastic paintjobs

Thank you for your encouragement and kind words guys :)
I'm determined to get all sixty painted before the end of the month and to that end I managed to get a bit more work done on them tonight.
Sculpted and painted a load of shields + painted six more goblins.
This means I’m almost half way through the goblins now!

Absolutely beautiful! I love the fact you've used a variety of colours on the clothing without losing the overall look of the unit.
What else do you have planned for the army?
-
Stunning. and whats 21 years anyway? +1 Well worth the wait.
-
They are really good, nice choice of colours.
-
These are glorious! The shields are tremendous - really great painting on the wood.
-
Awesome goblins Rusty Cyborg. I half expected some fanatics to pop out of the unit at me. ;)
-
Great looking gobbos - well worth the wait
-
Thanks guys :)
I ended up sculpting the shields for all sixty goblins before the mould making materials got here + I managed to get the basecoat done on another forty more goblins. Even though I didn't get all sixty done by the end of October, something I was aiming for, I'm still pretty happy with my output for the month. I'll snap some pictures of them when I get a moment.

Very nicely done! I love the rust effect. :-*
