Title: Options for 3D printing a single diecast piece?
Post by: Ranthony on 19 October 2021, 02:04:41 PM
Hi all,

I recently sold an incomplete Gemini aces F4 on behalf of a friend and was wondering if there might be a service to print parts?

The piece in question is a wheel and leg (see below).

If so, can anyone here recommend a service where the part could be sent, scanned and printed?

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers

Ry

Don't expect to get such a job done for pocket change though — you'll be looking at a couple of hours design work at least, plus the 3d printing cost.

For a relatively simple geometry like that, I suspect that just measuring and modelling directly in a CAD app would be faster than 3d scanning. Probably more accurate too, unless you have access to a very high-end 3d scanner.

Thank you Fitz,

If indeed the service is needed, it would be at cost to the buyer of the jet.

I will look up some print services and see if I can find a rough price range.
