Title: 3D printed Cold War Soviet infantry
Post by: monk2002uk on November 08, 2021, 06:49:49 PM
Here are some photos of the new Soviet infantry from Henry Turner. The figures can be re-sized from 10 to 28mm. I printed them at 15mm. I love the huge range of poses, which will go quite nicely with Team Yankee. The vehicles are from M. Bergmann's Cold War STL files, so not part of the Turner Miniatures range:

Another shot of figures advancing, with support from a T-64:

I am still getting used to taking eye-level shots with depth of field. Reasonably happy with the outcome but could do better... (seem to remember that feedback on a school report many many years ago).

Thank you. The link to the infantry figures is here:

The STL files will become available in MyMiniFactory and in Wargaming3D at some point.

The vehicles are from Bergmann's free Cold War STL files on Thingiverse.

What kind of resin do you use?

Which printer do you have?

I have Anycubic Standard Resin which leaves weapons very brittle after curing - so not really suitable for figures less than 35mm.
I have also tried the new Anycubic Tough Rein and that is much better.

I have a Formlabs Form 3 printer, which can resolve down to 0.025 mm layers. This helps with smaller details, like buttons and cuffs on 6mm figures  :). The resin is Formlabs own Grey Resin, which has a moderate degree of flexibility.
