Very much WIP at the moment as it’s too cold to varnish and finish basing, but loving this project, a reinvigorated offshoot of my Folk Horror stuff.
Various poor in progress shots here:

Hmm, tartans — great start!
-
Looking good!
-
those look fab
I was looking at the perry landing party too but that highlander with the two-handed sword is inspired
-
Awesome ideas and execution again! :-*
-
Excellent!

Agree with all that
-
Lovely! I love those figures!
-
Wow, very nice paint work indeed!
-
Great brushwork and the fine attention to detail always makes that little bit that takes it to the next level and really makes a model pop. Well done indeed. And I feel you on the cold, I have a bunch of figures waiting for their finish coat but it's been too cold to even do them in my greenhouse which is where I usually pull off my primer and finish in the winter.
-
That tartan is wonderful.
-
Fantastic work, there! The use of the Naval officer as an infantryman in a sort of undress uniform without lace is a great idea, very apt!
-
Loving that tartan!

Quick and suitably dirty revenants…

Those look stunning - I was wondering about doing something similar but mixing up the regiments and even nations
that setup has changed my mind

Thanks. The only reason they are all French is they had the most poses of hugging the musket, so no use for more dynamic poses. When I thought of doing others, I’d used all the heads I had left.
-
Great Revenants!

Finished my little settlement
(http://leadadventureforum.com/gallery/54/1462-100422100308.jpeg)
Fully modular, different layouts possible with a variety of garden inserts to keep the ‘square’ enclosed.

Very clever, I really like interchangeable set-ups! :)
-
Ooh, very nice blocked lines of sight design!
-
That is a great setup! Nice idea of being able to construct different settlements instead of a static display.

The fluff for my men:
Horseguards, or at least those in the know at Horseguards, were surprised when the laird of the most westerly Hebridean island volunteered himself and his militia for the duty. How word had reached Lord Summerisle was never determined, but he spoke of the old ways and the threats that lay within with some fervour.
Both he and his men were equally knowledgeable of the horrors emerging from the older, darker corners of Europe and the ways in which to confront them. It would be often remarked though, that they were also admirably, privately devout, his Lordship frequently leading his men in secluded worship. Few had cause to remark on the amount of kindling this entailed.

A really great line-up for SB there. Love your idea of the Wicker Man.
-
That ogre is rather off putting :o but the rest of your collection is spot on
-
brilliant - this would actually make a much better story / film than the wickerman!

Very nice! I need to get around to making some terrain for my game, I am waiting on an order of figures I want to use meanwhile I have some figures that I am working on. Again, I need to work on my own terrain.

Were the rather nice tree-critter "changeling" from the same Etsy shop as those great werewolves? August was a while ago and I can currently find the werewolves there but not the tree-thing.
Cool project, you might inspire some new stuff for my slow-burn 17th C gunpowder fantasy/folk horror/etc project!

The possessed one is ace. Gotta steal that idea. :)

They do one with tentacles and such but I fancied keeping it simpler. It’s not as obviously a straight jacket either.

Getting the most out of a sprue to get a French unit. I kind of cheated with more dynamic Infantry from a different sprue and a couple of bodies from a third. But you can get a decent start from a Perry command sprue.
Details on the blog - http://anevilgiraffe.blogspot.com/2023/02/french-unit-for-silver-bayonet.html (http://anevilgiraffe.blogspot.com/2023/02/french-unit-for-silver-bayonet.html)

Great kitbashing! 👍
-
An inspiring lot! I love how you integrate all kinds pf models into the game.
-
Lovely figure bashing!
-
great collection of figures - lovely kit-bashing and painting.

Loads of stuff today - a very large vampire bat, an abandoned cannon for scatter terrain, a cultist and a variety of bandit types in the form of deserters and cult worshippers.

Fantastic stuff 8) 8)
-
Looking great. Good idea with the cannon as Scatter-terrain. What are the original models you used for the Cultists? They look like Perry's, but I can't guess the range.
-
As explained on the blog link, they are Perry ACW cannon crew. I converted two normal Nappy line infantry by scraping away the jacket and backpack straps and doing greenstuff shirts and straps. I had no desire to do that for all 13 needed, so looking around I saw that sprue had chaps in waistcoats which was as close as I was going to get to the out of uniform look I wanted.
-
The musket armed cultists are great!
-
The ideas for the abandoned cannon and the bandits and cultists are great!
-
Lovely! I especially love the hooded heads!
-
Outstanding! Really nice, those!
-
Black dogs - not really exciting, just a couple of Wargs painted black. lol

Absolutely! The rocks any when, from a mastodon hunt to doings in the grim, dark future, though a bit less grim with the green... ;)
You really got your money's worth from the miscast! You've really given it the proper crumbling archaic look.

That wasn’t the issue, I added the steps to hide where resin hadn’t settled properly, the crack got enhanced with a bit of gravel though…

Took the opportunity to read this thread from the start again.
I love how you seamlessly blend different miniatures into the same world even more than the quality of your painting.

Just read through the whole thread…. what a brilliantly conceived and executed project 8)
