This week we opted for our own variation on a "Get Back to the Long Ship" style scenario. It was good fun, though some of the rules' shortcomings and ambiguities started to show through now that we've played a handful of times. We discussed some changes we'll make in future games.

Thanks for sharing - a good looking game.
And great to to see photos of the players who look like they are enjoying the game - too often photos of gamers look very dour!

Thanks! And couldn't agree more about how blogs often portray players at the table. Coincidentally, I had explicitly addressed this very point in the previous blog post, in which I said:
"Wargaming, for me, is at heart about the camaraderie, the friendships I've forged over the past handful of years. I enjoy the crafting side of the hobby, and the creative aspect of tinkering with rules and creating stories and scenarios for our evening's fun. But what I really enjoy is the feeling of a room full of merriment, of people filling my house with joyous noises and energy. In contrast to most other blogs devoted to this hobby, it has been a conscious choice from the beginning to include a fair share of photos of the players during the game. I love a beautifully painted troll or smartly crafted miniature copse decorating the table as much, maybe even more so, than the next guy, but it's the photos of my friends mid-game that really stay with me."
It, too, was about Ravenfeast if you're interested: https://miniaturescrum.blogspot.com/2022/02/a-ravenfeast-send-off-for-friend.html (https://miniaturescrum.blogspot.com/2022/02/a-ravenfeast-send-off-for-friend.html)

Another great set of photos (and words)
And yes the above quote is a big part of gaming for me too. Although we are still mostly playing remotely it is the getting together part that makes a game.
