Title: Mongolian catapult
Post by: Marshall on 07 March 2022, 10:43:42 PM
I'm after some help with what a Mongolian catapult would look like and where best to get one.

I play WaB and I'm trying to fill out a Mongolian force. I'm happy to use the fireforge infantry as crew but I'm unsure what to use as the actual catapult

Would it look like an older roman onager or a larger siege trebuchet.

I honestly don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Oh it'd be in 28mm

Presumably it would be a Chinese trebuchet? Something like this:

Mongolians used Chinese for their siegecraft so likely these weapons would have been of Chinese design see:

Adding some Chinese rockets could also be fun, see: http://weebau.com/history/chinese%20fire-arrows.htm

This is all I could find on their “human-powered” catapults, in the way of illustration:

PS.  The device helped them conduct biological warfare back then:

Yup,
The 1st Corps one is the one you need.
They do a great man powered one.
