Title: Mountains of madness Werewolves and Yeti?
Post by: Menelduir on March 24, 2022, 05:22:53 AM
So, as part of this years Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge, I decided to build and paint a mountain. Not one of my saner decisions [hence the title of this post] but I did it anyways. Well the challenge has now ended and I was able to get the mountain  done in time, but it was a near run thing.
I am hoping it will be versatile enough to appear in a number of games/genres but first up will be a game of Chaos in Carpathia. So I have included some 'in action' pictures of it in use, not from any game session just demo pictures.

Having built two quarters of a mountain I my yet get around to the other two quarters. The plan is to deploy them on terrain boards, each board being 2' by 2'. The mountains reach a height of 19", when placed side by side they are 42"+ in width, and roughly 21" deep.

I set up some paths with overlapping fields of fire.

It also is not solid, so portions of it lift off so that I can create caverns inside using scatter terrain.

Tremendously impressive piece that could be used for countless scenarios in literally any period or genre (and probably in numerous scales)!  Would that I had sufficient storage space to house something similar!

Thank you
Many are, the werewolf is Uncle Mike-strange aeons, the two Yeti are Copplestone, the two ladies are Blue Moon as are some of the peasants. The guy in the green sweater is Pulp Figures.

Storage space? Damn it what do you mean I have to store it?  ::)
It does break down a bit, and I have a garage no boxes big enough, but garbage bags should protect it. I just better label them, hate to see it go out in the trash... o_o

Thanks for the comments, I do plan to have it pop up in any number of games.

Werewolves against silver miners makes perfect sense to me!  But for 15-18mm.  :)

Oh wow! That one is amazing. And oh so inspiring. I will definitely try fitting one into my own terrain system. And the options it gives are great too. That makes it much more of a really useful gaming piece.
