Hello!
I'm embarking on my first pre-2001 NWF project, and am having some trouble figuring out Afghan uniforms. I have both Perry in Turbans and Beehives, and understand it wasn't likely for them to be mixed in a unit, but beyond that and some references to a love for the red tunic, I'm a bit lost.
Can anyone help point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
Alex

This is helpful - however it spans a good 20 years - was there considerably uniformity in units, headgear, trousers, etc? Only one of these illustrations matches up to the Perry infantry I have

These were Ian Heath's work- he's usually spot on. If you're really stuck why don't you copy some of the Perry stuff from their NWF/Second Anglo Afghan War games on Facebook?
