Hey all,
I'm having some trouble IDing the likely makes and models of trucks that would have been used by both sides in Spain, and thne finding the right models. As I understand it, we would have seen Henschel's in use by the Nationalists, and Ford 1.5 ton trucks in the Republican hands, but that's about all I've been able to find out.
Any help would be sincerely appreciated!

Alex, look at the Minairons models website . They sell some trucks in 1/76. Also, given that many of the improvised armoured cars were built on truck chassis checking these out can give some clues. I would think the Chevrolet SD1937, the Ford AA and Hispano Suiza T69 were in service maybe with both sides. I have also seen reference to the Soviet Zil/Zis 5 being supplied to the Republicans. The Henschel Type 33 and Phanomen Granit were in use but I don't know if this was by the Germans, the Nationalists or both.
Quite a tricky topic. Lots of data available on armour, artillery and small arms but not on the logistic tail.

What scale are you looking for? The Zis is very similar to the Ford AA, being a licence built version. French trucks eg Citroen, Renault were also to be found.

Thanks for the input - I'm looking for 28mm!

The Italians sent 6000+ trucks to Spain and sure seen pictures (in books) of captured ones being used by Republicans.
