Title: The Battle of Dorking 1875 - Devon Wargames Group
Post by: carojon on July 17, 2022, 11:01:36 AM
One of the games played at this month's meeting of the DWG was a fictional 19th century clash, Action at West Humbel, part of the fictitious Battle of Dorking, written in the wake of the Franco-Prussian War that would cause yet another invasion scare in Britain that would echo through to the dark days of 1940.

If you would like to see how Sir Harry Flashman and others helped repulse the Prussian invaders then just follow the link to the club blog.

Well, with Flashman at the fore, how could Albion not be triumphant?   :D

Well done, lad.  Mentions in dispatches all around!

Hi Chaps,
Thanks for your comments and glad you enjoyed the read.
It’s amazing how dear old Flashy keeps finding himself in the right spot at the right moment but perhaps he might consider that fact not quite such a beneficial talent.

Cheers
