Ok if this comes off as even half finished by contest end at least it gets me doing somthing-I admit the idea has been running through my head after seeing the BBC 2 programme "Coast" for a while now its a go at "Holts Electric Railway" not all of it in 28mm scale its a bit much but a section of track and the carriage itsself.
Holts railway was an electric railway (borad gauge) in which the raised platform was able to plow through the waves the electric current passed directly through the rails(and seawater) to power.
1st pics when a get the carmera cranked up- I figure I eed broad gauge track (any suggestions?) a suitable Carriage/coach to be raised above the waves on wheel legs and a hint of water effects .

I saw that episode and thought it was a typically brilliant Victorian idea. It will be good to see it in the flesh 8) I liked the fact there was actual footage of it working aswell :)
cheers

Its "Volts" not "Holts" no wonder I couldn't find it on Goggle and its the Daddy Long Legs version of Magnus Volk of 1880s ::)-its a pity BBC iplayer doen't have the programme still available Ok a quick look in local branch of Modelzone turns up some possiblities for the coach but it going to be more of a pavillion than Pullman

Thats weird as I watched that episode last Saturday . Its the first time I've seen the series and it had me thinking about a holiday around that area. I really liked the AA towers bit the most.

Dan its wierd because when it was shown I meant to watch it all but only saw the bit about the railways that had to Goggle it see it again. Progress is a bit slow as I'm just getting my measurements on paper and get the plans down.

Just managed to find some pictures of what you are building :o
What are you going to use it for, gaming wise?
