Title: The Silver Bayonet: 20mm Figures - Bigger Monsters!
Post by: Uncle Brian on 30 August 2022, 12:15:43 PM
I am starting to build up the various monsters, soldiers, and characters needed to play The Silver Bayonet (TSB). Since I game the  Napoleonic period using 1/72 figures  it seems like a natural progression to use them for TSB as well. It also seemed like a nice opportunity to use some of the older smaller 25mm Minifigs and Warrior Napoleonics that I have in small amounts.
For monsters I am using a mix of 28mm figures from a range of sources.

Of course I may need to create stats for some of these monsters:)
Thanks for looking:)

Excellent! There are some good (and very cheap) 1/72 monsters out there too: Dark Alliance and Caesar produce lots, including these guys (https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3Zpwcaw-tY8/XbMJZGk0nSI/AAAAAAAABRE/xzxwb1-k7RQOwfVGDromq-JurfkssEBlACLcBGAsYHQ/s1600/Goblins.JPG). But if you've got plenty of 28mm monsters to hand, they'll work just fine!

The licensed plastic D&D figures tend to be much skinnier than conventional 28mm or 25mm figures and I expect a lot of the monsters would look about right next to 20mm figures. Of course, with a lot of the monsters, they’re ‘scale flexible’ anyway…

Some of the smaller figures by Reaper Miniatures probably would also work - things like kobolds, gremlins, and similar.

I think we’re gonna need a bigger boat.  :)
