The bugs look useful as generic scifi nasties, but they also look like they'll be an absolute pain in the hole to attache to their bases.

Looking farwards to the marines and the jungle fighters though, lots of possibilities for mixing and matching with the stargrave stuff. I don't ever remember there being so much to choose from.

Fun times ahead.

Same! Although, I do find the bugs a bit too, um, generic? I mean, I understand that's the point, but I'd rather have two different kits that are each a little more different than one that's neither here nor there. Not least because more plastic bug kits can only be good in my opinion!

Honestly, I'm a lot more excited by the marines and the jungle fighters, even though you could rightfully argue that they themselves are a bit generic too!  ;D

I’m wondering if the jungle fights are more chunky Catachan plastics size or Stargrave/Copplestone scale.

... they also look like they'll be an absolute pain in the hole to attache to their bases...

Oh, you think these will be bad, just remember the Defiance Games bugs? These look to be the (at least) spiritual successor to those. Trust me; glueing restic to only pinpoint points of contact was an absolute nightmare!  lol

At least these are proper plastic and can be melted solidly together...

They do look nice and generic as buggy opposition though; more options!

I don't think they'll be too bad compared to the WA Spiders. Those dudes are an absolute pain to glue because they have so many leg options and no instructions etc.

At least with these you can see which is the front and back legs.

Looking forward to them though. WA is doing a nice job of covering the generic sci fi market.

Question. If you kit bash them or swap parts do they become combine harvesters?

I would want to like those, but I’m really distracted by an insectoid life form having just four legs.  ??? Can’t be unseen…

Oh, you mean besides the fact that their bodymass is too large to be functioning on a trachaeal respiratory system?  :D

Indeed.

There is a post on the Wargames Atlantic forum asking forum goers to create their own bug.

Could these go with that set of spiders WA also sell? Maybe they could be like the Ravagers from the Earth Defense Force games, now all we need are giant robots

Fans of Wargames Atlantic on the forums and Facebook certainly seem to think there will be some conversion potential by combining the spiders kit with the harvesters, yes.

If they had humanoid arms and legs (and guns), they’d make passable Kafer for 2300AD.

I like those! This aliens kit might be the first multi part plastic I buy. I do wonder about the small/juvenile ones though, they pose looks like they are crawling and not very threatening. I wonder if it could be bent into something more dynamic?

Still in the progress queue, as far as I am aware. Molds constantly get shifted in priority for a number of reasons.

Ba!-Dum!-Tish!
Carlos will be with us all week, please tip your waitress...

^__^

Not quite sure why you think they are not using a lung based respiratory system, there are plenty of Terran options (including invertebrates).

They look like they will be useful, though I would have preferred them to have had more than four limbs.

Not sure about the little ones.

True, but to be fair, DivisMal did state 'insectoid' ;)

And I really find the aliens hubbabubba posted to be far more interesting; I've got loads of bugs in many different forms already...

Me too; I think it is the head shape as well as the variety of poses: standing, prowling and running.
