Has anyone ever played that (initially) successful uprising? If so, what figures and rules did you use? Did you include captured arms and armor on some of your units? Did you even have your rebels in units, or as an unwieldy “warband” mob?
Thanks
Dan

Tony Robinson is right in this regard IMHO.
The Peasants’ Revolt of 1381 was of a revolt of serfs. By enlarge it was a revolt by the yeomanry and minor gentry.
For miniatures I would be looking for figures without livery (or at the very least threadbare liveries!) but with the usual array of weaponry available to the yeomanry and minor gentry; some decent but relatively cheap armours for the gentry, longbows, spears and billhooks etc for the yeomanry.

I have always wanted to do some units of peasants or maybe even a full army of them. But I have yet to find a source of miniatures. Not in sufficient numbers. There are a few here and there. And then there is the fireforge plastic Folk rabble. But they look a bit to fantasy'ish to me.

I have also been hoarding armed peasants over the years. Old Glory have a few packs that are quite useful that form the base of my leadpile

For 15mm, these I have already ordered:

And Baueda is redoing these peasant levy guys:

In 15mm there is a nice selection from various manufacturers. Museum Miniatures do Dark age and medieval peasant hordes which are pretty generic as well as Old Glory and Essex. Someone just mentioned fighting 15's.
I have used a combination of the above and they work fine for revolting masses for the Dark Age/Earlier Medieval IMO.
Here is an example:

My peasant units are old glory 25mm, mixed with some mitliton militia. Archers are the unarmoured and ribauld types

And, if you need another setting for your peasants to fight in …

Gents
Were there similar peasant revolts in the rest of Europe at that time (post Black Death)? Does anyone here know?
Thanks

Definitely. The German Peasants' War 1524 to 1525 is a great example as is the rising of the Jacquerie in France in 1358. If you google "peasants revolt" and a country (just guess) I'm sure you will get more results and probably more esoteric revolts.

Not quite the same think, but I know some consider the Hussite Wars as (initially) a peasants revolt.
-
The Hussites? That’s interesting.
Thanks

In 28mm there are the Fireforge Forgotten world villagers which are ok, bit fiddly to put together but reasonable for the price. Try using them with an occasional Perry helmet or shield. Swap a pitchfork for a bill here and there sort of thing

The old Otterburn range by Claymore Castings might be a good place to start. Armour, clothing and kit is designed for the 1380s, so the MAA would work, the English foot are all depicted on basic livery coats, so you could use the Scots foot (now sold through Antediluvian) if that bothered you, although you'd have to remove or hide the saltires on the gambesons, there.

From Antediluvian? I guess it’s been a long while since I looked at their site. Thanks,

Indeed. They started doing historical medievals a few years ago; a combination of the Scottish units from the old Claymore Otterburn range, the Claymore Harlaw range in its entirety, some early Islemen (all Paul Hicks sculpts) and a range for Bruce's wars (by Matt Bickley).

"The peasants are revolting!"
"I know. Have you ever seen them eat?!"

LOL!
