I've just finished some chariots, one Warlord, two Wargames Factory, for my Celts.

Good work!

Nicely done! The Wargames Factory models aren’t always the easiest to make look good, but you pulled it off.
-
Thanks gents. No they’re not the greatest figures but some of them paint up OK. I quite like their Greek hoplites, Persian infantry and light cavalry.

I love the one in the middle. I think the sculpt was based on an Angus McBride painting for the osprey Celts book. Makes me want to get one…

It is. Warlord also do a civilian set which is an old woman chasing some kids and a dog. The kids and dog are from the same McBride painting, they're running alongside the chariot.

They look good. Some reins would make the drivers look better - strips of paper coated with some craft glue would do it. The reins pass through the terret rings on the yoke. The warlord games yoke doesn't have rings.

I never both with reins for chariots, too fiddly and time consuming. Especially when there are so many unpainted chariots to finish.
-
Great stuff mate
Cheers

If you did decide to add reins, the best thing I have found is flat dental tape... easy to work with and has the correct cross section.

Excellent idea! Great models by the way - always love a chariot.
