Do they mix or is the finecast going to melt ?
TIA

Biostrip works fine on finecast and all other resins. I can't speak to any other methods though!

It absolutely does not... It ate away at some resin bases I had from Fenris and makes finecast go all floppy at the very least, unless they changed the formula in the last couple of years. I imagine most harsher paint strippers would demolish resins.

Thanks for the feedback.
I will be using full on DIY paint stripper so will do a test and provide feedback - I have. surfeit of that model so losing one is acceptable.

If by "full on DIY paint stripper" you mean the noxious Nitromors type you will absolutely lose that figure.
Biostrip20 does strip resin but as Cait says can soften it, although once washed off the resin does re-harden after a few days, so handle with care. (Soaking in neat Dettol will do the same)
I have never known Biostrip eat resin, I imagine that would be something to do with the specific granular foamed resin that Ian at Fenris used on his bases for a while, I had a couple of those crumble while I was sanding them.
Some plastics and resins do absorb the colourant/dye in paint so even a couple of soaks in Biostrip does not always return such figures to unpainted condition, even though the paint coat is removed the actual figure is discoloured.

Hi,
It wasn't nitromorse but a similar cheapo brand, which is probably the same stuff, and it melted off the slot and prongs on the back of an Elder Wraithguard. Good job I didn't dump the lot of them in there. The rest of the figure also felt soft and bendy.
Also the finecast seemed to have soaked up the paint, so the surface layers of paint stripped off, but the undercoat did not - or well the colour didn't.
Thanks anyway, guess I'll have to break out the primer and hope it doesn't clog up the details, either that or search for your product when I go to the DIY store Sunday, that was the dregs of my paintstripper bottle, and I have some metal figures to strip as well.

Buy it direct:

I have a 500ml pot that has lasted about 12 years now, still works fine (needs a stir before use) and over a quarter full. Very economical to use, I have another batch of LotR plastics in baggies at the moment.

Can not answer the OP, BUT......
the thread title sounds like an amazing webcomic (or B-grade 70's style sexploitation film).

Some others suggested Biostrip20 and other solvents:
