this is the report of a nice multi-player game we had a few weeks ago.
thanks to Blackdevil for the narrative ;-)
hope you like it!
An early Sunday morning in a new western town called Aniche, named after a little northern French city.

Rumour has spread that the famous diamond the younkounkoun has been found
One of the townspeople has the precious stone in his/hers pocket, but who?

or maybe this guy?

The news travelled fast and far, so the town now was a magnet for adventures and other uninvited guests.
Five gangs were coming to town:
the deadly desperados
(http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww63/ardbeg76/IMG_0257.jpg)
the tough cowboys
(http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww63/ardbeg76/IMG_0254.jpg)
grizzled mountain men
(http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww63/ardbeg76/IMG_0255.jpg)
the famous texas rangers
(http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww63/ardbeg76/IMG_0260.jpg)
and a bunch of outlaws.
All came from different directions but all with the same purpose: THE YOUKOUNKOUN.
note: the players can search some one by standing next to it, throwing 2 dice, if the result is 11 or more then the diamond is found, once searched the figurine is taken from the board, if at the end of the game the diamond is not found then the last villager has the diamond. Outlaws and desperados can shoot before searching. Once the diamond is found the team needs to get out of town with it.
The desperados game into town with blazing guns, first townsman killed. But no diamond
(http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww63/ardbeg76/IMG_0222.jpg)
The outlaws just had the same attitude but also did target the desperados.
The cowboys were more subtle, they did search but did not find, yet.
You could tell the mountain men did not like the lawmen, immediately there was a terrible gunfight.
The cowboys were “lucky” they did find the diamond,
(http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww63/ardbeg76/IMG_0234.jpg)
but then all gangs did turn against them,
(http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww63/ardbeg76/IMG_0235.jpg)
all hell broke loose.
The cowboys did protect there drunken team mate and tried to get out of the shower of lead.
The “lucky” one was shoot down next to the latrine ( yes Clint just did the same once).
The sneaky mountain men did recover the youkounkoun and got out of table. Game over.

The end of a nice 5 player game, damm we need more of those cause our figurines need to spend more time on the gaming table

Seemed like a very fun and exciting game, thanks for the report!

Looked like a lot of fun. I am almost finished completing my Wild West project (23 figures to paint and 4 buildings left to build) which I started almost a year and a half ago. In fact, the weather cooperated for one day this past week, and I was able to get my figures matte coat and dull coated that I painted this summer (200 figures, 60 horses, 11 assorted wagons) to go with the other figures, buildings, various terrain pieces, cattle herd, horse herd, cactus, trees, train and tracks that I have been working on since last May. I really want to start playing. Now I need to decide which rules to use!!
Thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Hitman

Excellent report! That sounds like a great scenario, and the board and the miniatures are fantastic! So, I have a couple of questions. What is the surface of the board made of? Is it a gaming mat of some sort, or something else? Are the buildings scratchbuilt, or bought? They look fantastic, in any case.
Like Hitman, I find this a great incentive to get moving on my own Wild West game again - although I haven't painted nearly as much as he has! Only one posse so far, and three buildings, although I have another five buildings waiting to be painted, so maybe that's what I should do this week.
Oh, and those Mountain Men are superb - makes my want to paint my own!
Excellent report!

thanks lads
the battle mat comes from http://www.miniaturesgames.com/index.php?cPath=23&osCsid=46b039ff64a1b62003af33719b0eb07a
all buildings are scratchbuilt (but not all by me)
Hitman : you don't need alot of figurines or terrain to play.just a few buildings and some extra bits to give some cover. just enjoy the game ;-)
have fun

Thanks for the info, Ardbeg. Those scratchbuilds are beautiful - everything that a good wargaming building should be. Fantastic stuff.
Ok, that's it - I'm painting some outlaws later!
Looking forward to more battle reports in the future.

Very nice buildings and figures. The whole scenery is impressively like I imagine such a town.
