I got a copy of the Ash Wastes box set for Christmas. I still have started building it yet but I thought I would share my first vehicle.
I quite like the new Escher "jet bikes" and thought I would have a go at doing one of my own. It is a converted AT43 Karman vehicle. I have built a cockpit using bits from an old 1/48 helicopter kit and added a chin mounted chain cannon (magnetic). I cheated a bit with the colour scheme as I quite like the original blue it came with, so I just weathered it a bit.
Hope you like it.

I have some Escher Bikes, Trike and Dragster on my workbench and vehicles for Goliath, Van Saar and Orlock in various build states. I will post as I go.

That's wicked man, excellent work.

Impressive.

A wonderful conversion. Excellent work.
The style is very fitting.

Great idea.

This is a very cool conversion. Nice weathering too.

Wow, this is an incredible conversion. I actually have a couple of these sitting around in boxes... Now I think I might have to try my hand at a similar conversion. Where did the back panel come from to cover up that hole where the gun is on the original model? Is it a scratch build as well, or comes from the helicopter kit.

Superb!

Thanks for the comments. I really enjoyed doing this. I was thinking of getting another one and building a “bomber” version.

It is a searchlight from the original model. I just cut off the original mount and covered the hole at the back.

PM,
Thanks for the quick response! No wonder I missed that, I never took the models out of the packaging. I actually just went and opened mine up to find the piece. I hope you decide to build more!

That really is a fabulous conversion, the whole thing turned out looking like it was designed that way from the outset!
-
Brilliant! 👏🏻

Superb conversion. It's such a shame that line went the way of the dodo, they had some really intriguing design work. Would have been interesting to see where it would have gone.

Great looking vehicle!
-
That not only works, it also has a Book of Boba Fett vibe!
-
Now I know what to do with mine... :D
Awesome work there. Yes; the original paintscheme was pretty cool to begin with, so good idea keeping it! :)
-
Absolutely fantastic!

Dang this is cool!
I've got a few of these in a box and I always liked them but didn't have much use for open topped flyers. However, seeing yours and looking at them as speeders really opens up the options. I'm seeing some star-wars type uses for them...

Nice work. I had two of these sitting around (picked up for laughably cheap) for years...never really ended up doing anything with them. Don't know where they went, but they're gone ---- and only now that I start doing wasteland gaming, lol.

That's a superb conversion.
-
What blue did you use? Looks great!

I bought some of these for the same reason. I thought these would be good for SW Legion environment. I really like the weathering you did and have marked this for examples when I get ready to do mine. Good stuff.
