Some pictures of a game played the 18th February at “Ramène tes Jeux“ games festival in Theix-Noyalo (Brittany).
Action takes place in 1795 in Brittany (ruleset: Argad).
There were four players, each playing a military faction: Republican national guards; Republican gendarmes (elite); Royalist regulars; Royalist Chouans; and a GM.
A Royalist Chouan leader has disappeared and everyone is looking for him ...but for different and secret reasons! The Chouans because they love him, the Royalist regulars because they want him for trial on the admiral ship because he stole money from their army, the Gendarmes for trial in the town of Vannes (off table) ...in fact the Garde nationaux had already captured him and secretly keep him in a farm before execution in the local village.

Chouans cross the river from the left bank (other groups of Chouans were already positioned on the right bank but farther in the countryside).

Royalist regulars cross the bridge and the river. The redcoats are the French “Loyal-Émigrant“ in British service.

Love how the game was setup with the river well below the surrounding terrain. And while I don't do Napoleonic or the associated rebellions, this does give me an idea how to use the guillotine I do have.

Thanks. Yes we like games on such large tables. :)
The river and bridge were made by a player some years ago for Peninsular Napoleonic games, inspired by a bridge in Spain I think.
I don't do Napoleonic or the associated rebellions, this does give me an idea how to use the guillotine I do have.
An idea to use a guillotine not in FRW context? You frighten me! lol

Lovely set-up, and a very interesting "hunt the wumpus" scenario. Love the guillotine (some assembly required) and dead body in the pond.
You left out the reveal, though! Where was the Chouan?

The Chouan leader had already been arrested, and hidden in a barn, only one player knew it (but was pretending to look for him too).
The idea worked well in the first part of the game, all players units were looking everywhere and spent some time talking and asking questions about it to the local civilians (all NPCs run by the GM).
Of course after a while the real battle become more important.

I believe the Chouan leader got a very close haircut from the National Razor.
