Title: Veronese Banners
Post by: Bullshott on 04 March 2023, 03:09:55 PM
I've just started a new project that involves making buildings suitable for a piazza  in an early 16th century Italian/Venetian town. I want to make the buildings generic, but be able to decorate the piazza with banners specific to the location I'm setting a game in.
My first location is Verona. Can anyone suggest suitable banners to use in addition to the usual Venetian images?
(post moved from the Medieval Adventures board, as this one is probably a better fit)

You definitely need a tavern sign that reads I due gentiluomini di Verona  :)

Well usual Venetian images isn't a bad start. There's the Lion of St Mark atop a column in the Piazza delle Erbe, a little less famous than its counterpart in Venice. Should do double duty for you. Might want to search to find  if there are any tourist souvenirs of a suitable size.

That's a great idea for a tavern sign, which will be very in keeping with my planned game setup.

As Venice is one of my favourite cities to visit, I already have a couple of Venetian souvenirs which will be pressed into service for this project.
