Here's a work-in-progress shot of my first two units, the Silver Shields, for my new phalanx for the Salute Ipsus game in April. They are all Foundry minis. There will eventually be eight more units of Brazen Shields. I'll post updates, here, as I get on with basing the remaining units over the next few weeks.
There's a lot more about the project on my blog: https://bigredbat.blogspot.com/search/label/Great%20phalanx (https://bigredbat.blogspot.com/search/label/Great%20phalanx)

You making me feel
Small. As revenge I need to mail you all my unpainted lowered pike Foundry figures.
Thanks for sharing your grand vision wish I could teleport over to see your pike madness in action.
-
This is madness but epic madness. :D
-
Thanks all! Just another 300 left to finish and base; bu tI feel I have the wind behind me, now.
-
I thought about doing Macedonians in 6mm, but the prospect of painting the phalanx brought me to my senses.
Seeing it done in 28mm, rather you than me :-*
-
Wonderful unit, sir !! :-*
Very impressive.
-
Hello,
Impressed !!!
Nikkobourges

they are very impressive. :-*
-
That's a really impressive phalanx! :-*
Doubly impressive that something so pretty also represents such a significant Occupational Health & Safety risk with all those sharp, pointy, bits. :D

Here's the latest image of the remaining 288 phalangites for the Salute phalanx, I'm pushing hard on the highlighting/varnishing prior to a basing push starting (hopefully) around the end of next week.
-
Impressive. Did you make the pikes removable?
-
hi Louis, no but I attach them late on, so that I don't have to store them all with pikes fitted. The pikes are already painted, I just need to fit them, after ensuring a good metal to metal contact.
-
Very impressive and great work

I'm on the final straight- just four lots of 48 attacking pike to pike up and base. Still a lot of pikes to fit and bases to grout, though... but it should be finished for Salute.
-
madness, in the most gentle way ;)
-
Pogo, not madness, just Mr Miller doing what he does best.
-
Show off!
I’m doing a unit of 32 and I’m bored already 😂😂😂

With a few days left, I'm working on some command stands. This one is "Antigonus at Bay" - partly based up - depicts his last moments at Ipsus, before he got javelined.
-
Is that Palanquin due to the rumor that he was so fat he needed to be carried?
-
Nice, nice, nice!
