Played an interesting game with the 40mm Peninsular collection recently, three different sides, 4 different players, good fun, write up and lots of pictures here; https://gapagnw.blogspot.com/2023/03/threes-crowd-sharp-practice-40mm.html

True, the Scum might have picked on the French, or tried to fight on two fronts.
My first War-Gaming buddie (Steve O'Leary, aka Oscar) was a master of the
political speech to opponents. When we played (Waddington's) Campaign, a 4
player game, he was so good at it that an unofficial rule soon became 3 of us
would not fight each other until he was out of the game. He then launched into
his later famous, 'Picture a list...' homily, 'My name is top of the list, but whose
name do you think is second?...'
