Ok LAF hive mind, I'm looking for recommendations for deep ones. Must be available from UK suppliers.
-
Crooked Dice, North Star for Deep Ones. Crooked Dice, Eureka UK for Hybrids.
Plus a whole bunch of .stls and commercail 3D printers if you are after resin.
-
Modiphius do some fantastic ones.
CP models do some as well
-
Thanks for the suggestions chaps.
For Deep Ones I think North Star's Horror range offers the closes to the ones describes in Lovecraft's Shadow Over Innsmouth. However, Bob Murch's Cricible Crush range (available through North Star) are lovely sculpts and includes some armed with AK47 rifles (very tempting as I was looking at incorporating Deep Ones in my Zona Alfa games).
For Hybrids, I've had in mind the Eureka sculpts for some time (useful as they are more human shaped than some offerings and include figures with rifles). Unfortunately these aren't on Eureka's website anymore. I'll have to chat with them about this at Salute.
The other option I was considering was Doctor Who Sea Devils. However with the Harlequin range long OOP and Warlord no longer listing their Doctor Who range this looks like a non-starter.

There are some Reaper Bones ones:

They're quite chunky (they fit on 30mm round bases, from memory, but probably not any smaller). But they're quite nice.
You can also go a bit wilder with Reaper fishmen:

I was going to say, the Reaper Bones ones (also available in metal) were my favourite at one stage, though if I were to start a CoC project now, I'd probably go with the Crucible Crush range, because I really like Bob Murch's style.
Lovecraft doesn't specify the precise height of Deep Ones in The Shadow Over Innsmouth, but, influenced by the video game: Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, I tend to think of them as quite large and physically imposing; more "30mm base" sized than 25mm. This is also in part, I think, because of Lovecraft's narrative where Zadok Allen says:
They’d ruther not start risin’ an’ wipin’ aout humankind, but ef they was gave away an’ forced to, they cud do a lot toward jest that.
That gives me the impression that they could easily take on a human and win in hand-to-hand combat.
But, if you do prefer them on the smaller side, CP models do some chubby ones with webbed hands:

They're a bit too small, in my view, but it's an option.

With the added bonus that there are a couple of packs in Bob's Black Sun range armed with bolt action rifles and AKs. Perfect for levelling the playing field against well armed human opposition!

Hello
The Eureka ones are still available on the UK website
28mm > Fantasy > Movie Monsters and should be on the first page of results or direct link
https://www.eurekaminuk.com/collections/movie-monsters/products/a-shoal-of-fishmen-28mm
Received mine just a few days ago.
Old member from over a decade ago who lost my old email (Supanet lost the email address for everyone in this house hold), but had to let you know these are still available to made a new account just for this post.
Side note: Not sure if Black Cat Bases is still an option these days, heard alot of negative comments on TMP and here since I last did a shop with them, but have to say they have some pretty nice Hybirds (and HPL among other items), and in several cases the photo's on the site dont do justice to the actual figures, also second up vote for the Crooked Dice hybrids, alot of character to them and the largest array of Deep One Hybrids by any company (as far as I am aware).
Have a lovely Eldritch day...

I think they're out of action.

Those Crucible Crush ones are my favourite of the (excellent) ranges listed. Like tikitang, I always have a bias towards picturing Deep Ones as fairly large thanks to the Dark Corners of the Earth videogame. I reckon you're right to go with those!
-
Black Tree Design still sell Sea Devils, etc.
EM4 sell deep ones and hybrids from the old Dunwich Detectives range, they are old school 25mm.
-
I thought Fenris used to do some Deep Ones but I cannot find them on the site. Still do a huge great Dagon though:

I’ll take them all! They all look like amazing options to me.

There is also the range for Carnevale that has some great deep ones (I think they’re called Rashar) and various other disturbing gribbliness. I particularly like the Brachyura - not what you’re looking for but great nonetheless! They may be 32mm rather than 28mm but scale may not be so important for beasties.
Available from TTCombat as single miniatures here https://ttcombat.com/collections/carnevale/products/rashaar-single-miniature?variant=42629919375558 (https://ttcombat.com/collections/carnevale/products/rashaar-single-miniature?variant=42629919375558)

Thanks everybody for the suggestions. In the short term a mate had advised me that he has a large collection of Deep Ones, so we'll be using them. In the longer term I'm still searching, but may well go for the Bob Murch sculpts in his Crucible Crush range.

The Crucible Crush deep ones are probably going to be my go-to.
Mi-go to?

I finished these recently - North Star "Denizens of Innsmouth". Lovely figures. There is a fourth one in the set, with a diadem, WIP...

If you need lots for a cost effective rate (as you get the fun game as well) Fantasy Flight Games publishes a good Arkham Horror game: “Unfathomable”. it contains about 20 resin deep ones (sadly all one sculpt) plus a upper body of Dagon and Mother Hydra emerging from the sea.
