Title: WW2 German Gaiter Color?
Post by: GARS1900 on 15 April 2023, 10:13:38 PM
What color should I use for WW2 German gaiters (the ones worn with the low boots). Popular depictions by wargamers and a lot of artwork shows them as being a dull beige, but all the originals/repros  I’ve seen seem to green/grey. The beige looks better IMHO, but I’m curious if anyone has seen an original pair in beige or had good reason to argue beige is a possible color choice. I know I’ve seen a bread bag in beige, but not the gaiters.

I've used either a khaki beige or a light olive green.  Both look OK in my book.

I usually use a green grey, sometimes a different shade/tone of fieldgrey.

I personally use Vallejo Panzer Ace Canvas: it is beige but it has a slight greenish tinge to it.
