Title: Sun Shield (15mm)
Post by: Fitz on 18 April 2023, 11:03:29 PM
I've never seen any wargaming rules covering its use, but I've designed a 15mm (1:100 scale) model of a M3 Grant wearing a "Sun Shield" truck disguise, because why ever not?

It can be found at https://www.wargaming3d.com/product/sun-shield-m3-grant/ (https://www.wargaming3d.com/product/sun-shield-m3-grant/)

I've wanted a Sun Shield model for the longest time, and now I have one :) This one is on the chassis of a M3 Grant, but it could easily stand in for a Sherman too, since only the running gear is visible.

Maybe I'll do one for a Crusader now. Maybe.

Got it painted now, and here it is alongside a naked Grant for comparison.

Very cool

Not sure its something that is very likely to appear on a tactical battlefield, but still cool, and very well executed.

There is a whole range of inflatable and scaffolding based dummy tanks and trucks you could do!
