A first for me, doing a Kickstarter project :)
It's in collaboration with the History and Games Lab (a part of Edinburgh university) and is all set to go live on May 1st. This is the link to the pre-launch page so you can signup and get notified when it goes live.

The project is for a 28mm modular resin shrine that would be found all round the Mediterranean sea from the early medieval period right up to the present day. It can also be used for fantasy games so there's plenty of opportunity to have one on your table.
There are basically three pledge levels and plenty of add-ons (keeping it simple for the first KS) so you can have a simple one or go for something more extravagant.

Superb.
Especially the one with Lawrence of Arabia ;)
-
I'm liking that! I might have to pick one up for fantasy games.
-
Nice! Signed up to be notified.

Looks amazing James.
Very excited for you - your first KS! Good luck with it mate.
-
Many thanks chaps :)

Yeah, it’s got quite a few potential uses :)
-
Signed up for notification, looks great.
-
That’s a lovely piece.
It looks well suited to an Osgiliath type board, as well as the more obvious uses. Very cool. 😎
-
looks great - signed up :)
-
Cheers everyone :)

That's a good idea, never even occurred to me lol
-
Really nice James, it would also look pretty sweet greeblied up on your Star Wars table (if you have any room left).
-
Superb.
Especially the one with Lawrence of Arabia ;)
I was thinking when did he paint those figures, then I realised lol
-
This is a must for my Viking in the sun games! SO happy about this :-*
-
Thanks again :)

I’ve got one set aside to do some Star Wars stuff to it :D
-
Thanks again :)

There's so much potential. I've got a load of ideas for mine already and Star Wars most definitely features. It's got the right sort of look about it that it would quite readily become an old Force shrine, or jedi or sith shrine.

Just a quick reminder that this goes live on Monday around lunchtime :)
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/modulararabicshrine/modular-arabic-shrine (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/modulararabicshrine/modular-arabic-shrine)
It can be used for many settings (good for your project Elk :) ) and the list below is some of them that it can be used for.
Generic fantasy
Lord of the Rings
Frostgrave
Dragon Rampant
Conan
Generic sci-fi
Star Wars
Stargrave
Moors in Spain
Medieval including the Crusades
Peninsular Wars
Napoleon in Egypt
WWI
WWII
Modern conflicts

Certainly ia good for me. The great thing about the top being interchangeable is I can use it for my fantasy games then switch it to a jedi or sith shrine for Star Wars.
-
Excellent, very versatile. :)
-
This is now live :)

Pledge away :D
Add ons can be added to your order after pledging for those that would like to expand over the three pledge levels.
-
And you're funded! Well done.
-
Yeah, wasn't expecting it to be that quick lol
-
Looks like the set I wanted is limited and is sold out.
Those in the US look to lose out. :(
That's life in the big city.
Good luck with the KS.
-
It was timed to go live to try a catch as many international backers as possible (on either side of the Greenwich meridian).
-
I went back and looked at the different levels.
What did I discover, that you can add on stuff.
So I did and I am in, just cost a little more. :)
-
Thank you :)

I’m starting Wip Wednesdays again and this time it’s a modular Arabic shrine (surprise surprise :D).
Mainly to show what can be done with a simple level one pledge and some of the numerous add-ons available.
These pictures are of it loosely fit together but it’s been stuck and next week should have a coat of primer on it and some limited groundwork :)
Figures are GB plastics and old Musketeers Miniatures all based on pennies.

That's pretty cool. The side by side shrines work remarkably well. The roof join would be easy to cover.
-
Thanks :)
There’s a little strip of wall that covers the gap that every pledger that’s ordered wall add-ons (or two or more pledges) gets.
-
Even better then! It's got me contemplating a Crusades project, even though I'm getting one mainly for fantasy and Star Wars!
-
Do all three :D
Wip Wednesday again and the main colours and groundwork have been applied. Plenty of time left to pledge at the lower level and get the additional add-ons for expanded compounds.

Handsome :-*
-
That looks great and shows what can be done with some extra pieces and a bit of imagination.
-
Looks good!
I'm curious about the tower in the background of one of the pictures. Is that a potential future release (as I don't see it on your website)?
-
Thanks chaps :)

It's a Gondorian tower I made for when we dabbled in LotR years ago. Not looking to make a range as there's plenty out there already.
The wip is complete and ready to be fought over.
The KS ends on Sunday just before midnight so there's still plenty of time to get the lower pledge and some add-ons :)

Now that is tidy!
I did think I recognised that tower!
-
Thanks :)
-
Really lovely work, I'm glad I've backed the Kickstarter!
-
And it's successful, six times over :)
Many thanks to all those that backed, you'll be getting the 'survey' email this week. I started the casting process a while ago and will be doing the remaining moulds this week with a view to start posting in August.

Well, it's here, and it's as good as it looks in the pics :-*
The detail is superbly crisp, it fits together well, and although the models in the photos in this thread should have given me an idea of the size, it's even bigger than I thought - not a bad thing!
I got the broken wall and water fountain, and they add some interesting variety to the wall. Now the only problem I have is what to use them for: my tiny Napoleonic project? Star Wars? LOTR? My new undead? I like this sort of problem :D :D
Thanks James, looking forward to the next one!
-
Cheers John, glad you like it :)
It’s been a learning curve certainly lol
